BGS scientist addresses European Parliament
Dr Nick Riley MBE, EGS Contact Person of the British Geological Survey, addressed a European Parliament hearing entitled “CO2 Capture and Storage – the Way Forward” on March 5th 2008. Dr Riley, coordinator of the European Research Network of Excellence (CO2GeoNet) and Head of Science and Policy for BGS in Europe, focused on security and safety concerns with respect to the geological storage of CO2 as a climate change mitigation option.
