Call for Abstracts – EGU session on 3D/4D modelling methods and techniques

LAST CALL FOR ABSTRACTS – EGU SESSION ON 3D/4D MODELLING METHODS AND TECHNIQUES, EGU GENERAL ASSEMBLY – VIENNA, 7-12 APRIL 2013

The scientific programme for next years European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly Conference (to be held in Vienna, from 7th -12 April 2013) contains a conference session entitled “Maps to Models – advances in 3D/4D geoscience interpretation techniques and methodologies”, co-convened by the British Geological Survey, the Geological Survey of Bavaria, and the Swiss Geological Survey.

Abstracts are invited on research concerned with the development of techniques and methods for 3D/4D modelling. Example topics could include integrating models at different scales, the development of voxel modelling to better understand subsurface property distributions, providing appropriate metadata for models, workflow management and storage, and the development of new and innovative model delivery mechanisms.

More information about the session and the procedure for abstract submission can be found at: http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2013/session/12086

The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 9th January 2013.

Currently submitted abstracts include contributions from leading Universities and Geological Survey organisations in Europe, as well as from large EU funded projects working on this area, so it promises to be an exciting session. Abstracts from outside Europe are also very welcome.

More information on the event can be found on their website: http://www.egu2013.eu/
