EuroGeoSurveys Spring Meeting 2009
EuroGeoSurveys Spring Meeting took place from March 30th to April 1st. It was composed of the 61st Executive Committee Meeting, OneGeology Awareness Seminar and the 26yh General Assembly Meeting. This time the meeting gathered in total more than 60 participants, while at the General Assembly 37 participants, representing 23 Geological Surveys our Members and Partners were present. One Geology Awareness Seminar was first of the series of such events meant to inform the public about the activities and aims of the project. The seminar was attended by several EU officials who delivered the presentations on such topics as GMES, GEO/GEOSS, Raw Materials Initiative and Soils Directive. The participants visited a GeoTruck – mobile interactive exhibition which is the outreach initiative of TNO and University of Utrecht. During the General Assembly a signature ceremony of the new Internal Rules of our Association was held. The meeting was also an occasion to thank Dr Patrice Christmann for his services as the Secretary General and welcome Mr Luca Demicheli – a new Secretary General of EuroGeoSurveys.
