European Geological Surveys EEIG
The European Economic Interest Grouping of the European Geological Surveys has been officially registered with the Chamber of Commerce and with the national taxation offices in the Netherlands. Therefore the company is now officially in business and is developing its website and marketing materials.
The starting date for the company was the date of signing of the Contract of Formation in Athens at the occasion of the General Meeting fall 2007. The four founding members of the EEIG are: IGME of Spain, BRGM of France, NGU of Norway and TNO of the Netherlands. The organisation is open to all EuroGeoSurveys members. More members are expected to join shortly.
The purpose of the organisation is to provide research and research based consultancy services to the European Commission and related organisations such as the European Environment Agency and Eurostat.
