Those are the map services created by the Geological Survey of Norway (NGU) and the Directorate of Mining, providing:
- Information on Norwegian mineral resources available to mining and exploration companies, prospectors and other users;
- Easy access to a variety of information from various sources; mineral resources, geology and geophysics (Geological Survey of Norway), pre-claims and claims (Directorate of Mining), protected areas (Directorate of Nature Management) and topography (Norwegian Mapping Authority);
- Map-views of ore deposits, linked to the mineral resource database at NGU. The database contains information, in variable detail on about 5.000 ore deposits/occurrences; including field descriptions, analytical data and references.
From European Institutions :
The European Technology Platform on Sustainable Mineral Resources (ETP SMR) aims at modernising and reshaping a fundamental pillar of the European economy: the European Minerals Industries. These include oil, gas, coal, metal ores, industrial minerals, ornamental stones, aggregates, smelters as well as technology suppliers and engineering companies. The key objectives are: securing the future supply of/access to European raw materials; supporting the revival of exploration of Europe’s mineral potential; developing innovative and sustainable production technologies; implementing best practices; reuse, recovery and recycling as well as new product applications; creating European added value through RTD-based technology leadership, education and training.

From academia, research institutions and international associations :
Industrial Minerals Association Europe (IMA-Europe) was founded in 1993 as an international nonprofit association (AISBL) under Belgian law to provide sector-based representation for industrial minerals and to promote the interests of its members. IMA covers all issues related to industrial minerals except commercial ones. Health and safety at the workplace, environmental protection and product safety are some of IMA’s top priority issues. IMA’s members recognise sustainable development as a vital objective for society and readily acknowledge their responsibility for helping to achieve this critical aim. The Association is particularly focused on representation at European Union (EU) institutional level and coordinates contacts with national and international authorities. IMA-Europe ensures that the industrial minerals industry at large benefits from the sharing of non-sensitive information and plays a supporting role in the promotion of best practices.
The objective of the International Association on the Genesis of Ore Deposits (IAGOD) is to promote international co-operation in the study of the genesis of ore deposits and to further the growth of knowledge in this field. These tasks are achieved in several ways. International symposia are organized by IAGOD, and a variety of meetings and symposia are held in conjunction with other organizations interested in the genesis of mineral deposits. The association continues to expand its international activities and membership, having members in about 70 countries world-wide.
Euromines is the recognised representative of the European metals and minerals mining industry in Europe. Its main objective is to promote the industry and keep relations to the European institutions at all levels. Additionally, it provides services to its members with regard to the EU policy and a network for information exchange and co-operation throughout the sector within Europe. Euromines fosters contacts with other parts of the mining community throughout the world.
EMU is an international scientific organization. Its objective is to further European cooperation in the Mineralogical Sciences (mineralogy, petrology, geochemistry and their applications). The members of EMU are national scientific societies representing mineral scientists from European countries. There is no individual membership, but individual sponsors are welcome.
From World Wide Web :
Founded in 1961, Eurogypsum is a European federation of national associations of gypsum products manufacturers, based in Brussels and registered in Belgium as an AISBL (International Non-Profit Association). Its role is to promote the interests of the European Gypsum Industry and ensure that there is awareness at a European level of the contribution the Gypsum Industry makes to society in general and to the built environment in particular.
Industrial Minerals (IM) provides honest and unbiased comment on market trends in the global supply and demand of non-metallic, non-fuel minerals (ie. industrial minerals). IM is the authoritative source for premium information for the global industrial minerals industry. IM achieves this through magazines, newsletters, conferences, specialist books and directories, and on-line services.
