Official launch of the EuroGeoSurveys webportal

We are very happy to inform you that the new portal of our Association is finally up and running! It was officially launched on January 22nd, 2008, when it replaced our previous website. This new portal has an ambition to offer information about importance of geology to European society and the role of the European Geological Surveys. It is mainly focused on the non-geologists however we believe that also the experts can find something interesting there. The portal was developed, under the terms of the back-office support, by a consortium of the Polish Geological Institute and SMT Software lead by Mateusz Hordejuk (IT officer of PGI). The development was preceded by consultations with our Members. As the portal is still a very young child of EuroGeoSurveys do not be surprised that some content is missing or some features are not fully functional – we are still working on it. Most of the content depends directly on contribution from our Members and especially from the Working Groups. Therefore we would like to encourage you to critically browse through the portal and let us know your comments and opinions. Finally if you like it, what we really hope for, please recommend it to your colleagues.
