The International Professional Geology Conferences are held every 4 years in different countries around the world. In 2012 it’s Canada’s turn! And you are invited! Geoscientists Canada will host the 4th International Professional Geology Conference (“4IPGC”), in Vancouver, January 22-24, 2012. By special arrangement with the Association of Mineral Exploration of British Columbia (“AME BC”) 4IPGC will coincide with Mineral Exploration Roundup 2012. Previous IPGC conferences were held in Alicante, Spain in 2000, London, England in 2004 and Arizona, USA in 2008. Under the theme “Earth Science – Global Practice”, the conference will complement the work of international professional geoscientists and align with Roundup. 4IPGC continues the tradition of providing valuable coverage of topics related to professionalism and practice issues affecting Earth scientists globally. 4IPGC will feature a 2.5 day program and the Call for Abstracts/Call for Papers has gone out. The deadline for submissions is August 15, 2011 The “Roundup” is a vibrant, technically oriented convention that attracts over 7000 participants from across Canada and around the world. Geoscientists comprise the largest individual segment of Roundup delegates and will ensure an excellent atmosphere for 4IPGC. By arrangement with AME BC, those registered for 4IPGC will also be able to attend Roundup, and those attending Roundup can attend 4IPGC.
