EGU General Assembly 2020 - Physically cancelled but available online

EGU has cancelled the physical General Assembly 2020 in Vienna. The EGU is officially announcing the cancellation of the physical EGU General Assembly 2020 in Vienna, Austria. Because the Union is committed to minimizing the impact of COVID-19 on scientific research and collaboration, we believe EGU has a responsibility and a duty to ensure these activities continue despite the current, extreme circumstances. We have therefore decided to host EGU2020: Sharing Geoscience Online (#shareEGU20), a week-long series of online activities held during the first week of May that support our community by fostering scientific communication. Scientific sessions encourage authors to upload and share their presentation materials and opt in to commenting from 1 April 2020 onwards. From 4 to 8 May 2020, during the week of EGU2020: Sharing Geoscience Online, each session hosts a live chat for community exchange and discussion on the presentations of that session. Abstract authors are invited to share presentation materials and opt in for commenting. You are kindly asked to read our presentation upload recipe

It is the largest geosciences meeting in Europe, which brings together thousands of geoscientists from all over the world into one meeting covering all disciplines of the Earth, planetary and space sciences. It provides an opportunity for science communicators to talk to researchers, learn about new developments and find out about the latest discoveries in a variety of areas, such as climate, space and planetary science missions, natural disasters, and plastic pollution.
